The preliminary rounds have been completed and Caroline is perfectly poised to carry off some hardware from these championships going into the final rounds on Saturday and Sunday. Caroline broke the Junior World Championship record to lead the slalom event with 3 @ 11.25m, two buoys clear of France's Ambre Franc with home nation sensation Delfina Cuglievan lying in third with 3 @ 12m. The tricks event proved to be almost as successful again, with Caroline notching up 6360 for the second place thus far. Iris Cambray (FRA) has a significant lead with 7850 points while Manon Costard keeps the pressure on with 6140 points to round off the podium after round 1. Caroline more than made up for the deficit in the jump event, flying in the final round with a 43.7m (143') leap with compatriot Lauren Morgan not too far behind with 42.8m (140'). Costard once again occupied a spot in the top so far, with a 41.8m jump (137'). Her consistently high scores meant that Caroline's lead in the overall competition was not unexpected. Indeed, baring a miracle, the real serious competition may well be between Iris Cambray and Manon Costard for the remaining places on the podium. Full Results are available here.
