Caroline Hensley took the Junior World Slalom title in dramatic fashion at the Bujama Lacus Lakes in Lima, Peru to cap a great day for the Hixson, TN native.
Leading going into the final round, Caroline matched the score of France's Ambre Franc who scored 2 @ 11.25m just minutes beforehand. In the ensuing run-off, Caroline decided the title by a mere half a buoy with 4.5 @ 12m to Ambre's 4 on the same line length. New Zealand's Stacy Gilbert improved seven positions from her preliminary round tally to snatch the bronze medal with 3.25 @ 12m. As no significant improvement was made by any of the main protagonists to the overall crown, Caroline still leads going into the tricks final where she will be the second to last skier off the dock.
