Caroline completes a Golden Triple
Sunday, 11 January 2009

Having won one gold and a bronze medal the day before, Caroline Hensley completed her mission in Peru not only for herself in the tricks event but also for Team USA.

Confident that an earlier fall by France's Manon Costard effectively sealed the Individual Overall title for the Tennessee native, Caroline performed a rock-solid trick set in the final round to tally 6410 points. While that total wasn't enough to take the trick title away from France's Iris Cambray (7500 points), it was a improvement from the day before and all but assured that Team USA fulfilled its goal of bringing back the Team Gold Medal.

The final medal tally for Caroline:

  • Slalom Gold - via a run-off with Ambre Franc (FRA), scoring 2 @ 11.25m
  • Trick Silver - 6410 points in the final round for her best score of the tournament.
  • Jump Bronze - 42.2m in the final round.
  • Overall Gold
  • Team Gold
