50th Masters at Callaway
Tuesday, 26 May 2009

Four US athletes won titles at the 17th Junior Masters this past Memorial Day Weekend in Callaway Gardens: Wilson, Morgan, Hensley, and Pickos. Hensley, 18 years old, finished up with two gold medals (slalom and overall), a silver medal (jump), and a bronze medal (tricks). Being her fifth Masters, she put up solid scores in all three events. K.C. Wilson, 15 years old, finished with a gold medal in slalom. This 17th Junior Masters was his first of many Masters to come. He scored 2@39 off in the prelims, placing him top seed in finals where he won with a score of 4@38. Morgan won the jump event on her last jump with 138 feet, having her first Masters win ever. Adam Pickos won the junior boys trick event for the second time in his career. Kolman and Pickos battled their tricks out in both the prelims and finals, but Pickos ended up 200 points ahead of Kolman for the win.

Numerous skiers from around the world gathered at the prestigious event in Callaway Gardens to celebrate and compete in the Masters tournament. Callaway Gardens has always done a fantastic job of hosting the Masters, and we are excited about the many more Masters to come. Thank you Callaway! Image
